Lime Slicing Juicer
A Bartender’s Tool
A product idea by an international entrepreneur’s dream to launch a new product
Summary:
Lime Slicing Juicer solves a simple problem by offering the convenience of slicing the citrus fruit as it is being squeezed, and allows the user to eject the spent rind halves with a tip of the thumb. This project sponsor is a seasoned entrepreneur who decided one day to become and inventor.
A prize for any casual cocktail artist or professional mixologist, the simple slicing juicer enables efficiency, reduces clutter and the need for knives and cutting boards, and features integrated and modular zesting tools. This is a great example of how to launch a product from a simple idea.
Responsibilities:
Concept Development
Inspired by the Inventor, “a hand squeeze juicer that cuts and juices limes at the same time”, the challenge to design the best solution drove qualitative research with lead users.
Functional Analysis
Establishing the basic specifications having ranked the value of feature-sets as dictated by quantitative analysis, we set off to sketch the possible futures within our framework. Our goal was to effectively launch a product.
Prototyping and Testing
Finally, we built, tested, and refined successive prototypes to test functionality, user impact, and the potential material performance of both plastics and metal. To launch a product like this we focus on the end user and the geographic market.
